Hands on With the Xpand X102 3D Glasses
12.03.10
The Xpand X102 glasses themselves are rugged and are meant to work with any 3D enabled TV through an IR transmitter built into the glasses, as if it were a remote control. The XpanD X102 do not fold, but they are bendable and sit comfortable on your face for a decent amount of time. However, they do give the impression that you are wearing a modern version of the classic red view-master as glasses.
Not widely available yet for purchase, the XpanD X102 is just one of many 3D pairs of glasses that will be available soon, and it will be bundled to work with technology from leading companies such as Samsung who will be launching 3D televisions in the near future.
Personally the dust is finally settling over the whole analog to DTV transition, so I think many will be hard pressed to want to throw out their new TV’s in place of a 3D enabled one just for a few thrills here and there. But like any technology it takes time to adapt, so lets see if the 3D emergence is truly successful this time around and whether or not it doesn’t end up like Beta-Max.

United States highways are numbered more or less sequentially, as you trivia hounds may be aware. I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone prone to motion sickness. Portions of Highway 1 are notoriously curvy, with switchback after switchback, and rather precipitious drops in incline, making even a 5 mile per hour journey feel like a roller coaster ride at times. In fact, both my wife and youngest son ultimately had to opt for Dramamine to keep their wandering stomachs under control. On the other hand, large swaths of this particular journey offer one stunning

A Byron High School student who developed seizures while at school Thursday morning after taking some pills might have gotten those pills from another student.
Now, that fellow student is charged with three felony drug offenses.
Tyler Joseph Lanand, 18, of Byron, was arraigned on the criminal charges late Monday morning, where unconditional bail was set at $40,000 and conditional bail at $5,000. He returns to court March 8.
According to the criminal complaint, the sheriff's department was called Friday after Byron school officials learned that the student who developed seizures Thursday morning had taken a large quantity of Dramamine pills before school, and possibly got the pills from Lanand.
Principal Mike Duffy searched Lanand's locker and found a clear plastic baggie with six pills which were later identified as Vicodin, and a small portable digital scale. The complaint says that Duffy
