HOW TO KNOW IF YOU’RE WEARING YOUR BABY CARRIER PROPERLY
Mimics in arms position – When your baby is in a baby carrier, they should be in the same position that they are in when you hold your baby in your arms. This is the single most important part to any baby carrier. If it is an upright baby carrier, your baby should be snug against your body, high on your chest, in the same position your arms hold them in. If it is a side laying carrier, they should be between your breasts and your belly button, in the same position, and location that they are in when you hold them in your arms. If you put the carrier on and let go of your baby and they move away from you, drop down, slump to the side etc, then your carrier is not on correctly. Please ask for more detail on this point if you need more clarification. It is SO SO important!
Close Enough to Kiss — this means that their head is close enough to you that you can bend down and easily kiss the top of their head. If you cannot bend far enough to reach them, then they are too low. If they are too low, there is a higher risk of breathing difficulty, you may feel that the baby is insecure or may fall out of the carrier, and it will cause back aches.

Patellar pain? Knee-jerk reaction should be rest
12.03.10
Does your knee ache after activity? Does the front of your kneecap feel like it's burning or sore? Are you having trouble doing routine things like going up and down stairs, squatting to get something off the floor or exercising? If so, you may have a case of patellar tendonitis.
Patellar tendonitis is one of the more common forms of tendonitis. It occurs in patients of all ages, but most frequently in those younger than 60.
To find your patellar tendon, put your fingers slightly below the bottom tip of your kneecap. Now, extend your knee so your leg is straight. What you feel popping into your fingers is your patellar tendon. Poke all around it — if the pressure is uncomfortable, you may have just ruled in patellar tendonitis.
Hallmarks of patellar tendonitis are clear and distinguishable from other forms of knee pain like meniscal tears, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries and even arthritis. The most commonly reported symptom is a feeling of burning around the kneecap. The knee in general can be sore and even the skin on the surface of the knee can be sensitive to the touch. In more severe cases, the pain may be felt as sharp or shooting, and some patients say they feel as if the "tendon is ripping."

DC Jail Inmate: 'Instead Of Being Correct I Am Being Corrupted'
12.03.10
*"In prior years, our organization has provided detailed testimony about issues affecting prisoners at the Jail and the Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF), based in part on documents provided at least annually by the DOC and based on our own interactions with DOC staff and with DOC prisoners. Unfortunately, the documents we normally rely upon to report to this Committee (and required under the Jail Improvement Act, discussed below), are unavailable this year. It is our understanding (from Committee staff) that the DOC did not provide such documentation this year, despite its legal requirement to report to the Council on a quarterly basis."
*"In 2009, the Fenty Administration declared unilaterally that it would not comply with the provisions mandating that all prisoners be released before 10:00 pm. There was no change in law, only an alleged re-interpretation of the law by the Attorney General. In 2009, this Committee offered the âSafe Release of Inmates Amendment Act of 2009â (Bill 18-424) in an attempt to compromise with the Mayorâs blatant refusal to comply with DC law. The bill would require the DOC take responsibility for people it released after 10 pm by providing transportation, securing housing if necessary, and other services. Not only did the Fenty Administration refuse this compromise, the DOC has refused to provide to this Committee even basic information about the number of people (illegally) released after 10 pm and the reasons for their late releases."
