Equine Voices event shares message
11.03.10
Animal lovers reached out with their hearts and pocketbooks
Saturday to help the Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary's sixth
annual fundraiser.
The goal of "A Very Special Horse Event," held at Brandi Fenton
Memorial Park, was to bring people together to raise awareness of
animal abuse and tell the story of Premarin.
Premarin is a medication used for treating menopause that is
made with pregnant mares' urine.
"There are other alternatives that don't require unnecessary
suffering for horse and foals," said Susan Via, silent auction
coordinator.
The organization's volunteers are passionate about the
animals.
"It touched my heart to see how the animals were treated," said
Danae Dorame, 12, an Equine Voices volunteer. "The most exciting
thing about this event was for people to come and see the horse."
Gulliver, Equine Voices' mascot, was at the event.
The fundraiser featured live and silent auctions, raffle, food,
tack sale, horse demonstrations and speakers.

Breast Cancer Rates Decrease in White Affluent Women over 50
Dr. C.W. Randolph Unveils the Hidden “Money-Hormone-Choice” Variable
Jacksonville, FL ( PRWEB ) March 7, 2010 -- Only white, affluent women over 50 are showing a decline in breast cancer rates across the country, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Public Health. Harvard researchers analyzed data evidencing a decline in breast cancer rates across the country and discovered this startling fact. No such decrease in the number of diagnosed breast cancers was evident among African American, Hispanic or Asian/Pacific Islander women. The researchers attributed the decrease in this racial, socioeconomic slice of women to a decline in these same women’s use of synthetic hormones often prescribed for menopausal symptoms. Breast cancer rates declined by as much as 10% annually in this group.
“This new research is seminal in that it throws light on a previously obscured variable.” says Dr. C. W. Randolph, Jr., “This demographic of women - white, educated and informed, is not only the segment of the female population most likely to stop using synthetic hormones, it is also the segment of women most actively embracing bioidentical hormone replacement therapies (BHRT) as a safe and effective alternative.”

Rick Berman Attacks the Humane Society

I often wonder when I hear people speak out against HSUS why they so vehemently oppose it. I mean, people say they're extremist and fringe and all of this. But if that were the case, how could they have so many supporters? Do you really think that we are all brainless and unable to think for ourselves? I suspect that it's more a case of not wanting to face reality. The HSUS through education and outreach shows us how cruel of a species we really are, and we just don't want to own up to that.
You might not find canned hunts, which is a term used by many groups around the world, not solely HSUS, to be moral, but most people find them to be the realm of lazy "sportsmen". Please don't pretend that canned hunts don't simply toss animals in an enclosure where they are, pardon the pun, sitting ducks. Let's also not ignore the fact that rich men from the US travel to Africa for canned hunts of big game. There is no sport in hunting anyway, because you are smarter and better equipped than any animal out there. Congratulations.
